Discovery Center School Programs and Field Trips

The Discovery Center serves over 35 schools and organizations in Marion County by providing engaging,

hands-on science programming correlated to Florida State Standards.

Animal-based programming that introduces students to the Discovery Center’s plethora of reptile, amphibian, and arthropod species as well as the many physical and behavioral adaptations of all animals!¬†

Programming that covers the basics of magnetic force and shows off the power of magnets in a cool demo. This program also promotes individual student exploration through magnet discovery stations.

The perfect addition to your next science or parent night. We bring twenty hands-on science stations covering many science topics, from sound waves to slime, including a station with a few of the Discovery Center’s animals !

StarLab is a portable, inflatable planetarium. Students can explore our local interstellar neighborhood, learn about asterisms and constellations, and so much more!

Using the StarLab planetarium, students can now explore inside our Earth and learn about tectonic plates, earthquakes, mineral resources, volanoes, and much more!

Come to the Discovery Center and explore our 5,000 sq ft. exhibit hall. With three to four different, traveling exhibits per year, our exhibit hall covers a variety of science topics!
