REQUEST A VIRTUAL FIELD FOR YOUR CLASS! EXCITING EXPERIMENTS, ACTIVITIES, AND FUN FOR ALL!

Discovery Center provides:

  • Forty Five minute educational experience lead by a Discovery Center Educator.
  • Digital program materials packet for educators.

Schools are asked to provide:

  • In person supervision for class.
  • At least 20 eager, science hungry students!

Meet the Animals

A 45-minute virtual segment over Zoom featuring a talk with up to 5 DC Animals on camera and a question and answer segment.

Biotechnology and Beyond!

From changes on the cellular level to algae that can clean-up oil spills, biotechnology covers a diverse spectrum of topics! Join the Discovery Center as we explore biotechnology today and where it will go in the future through a 40-minute virtual presentation. This Virtual Field Trip is geared towards 6th through 12th graders.

Paper Planters

Recycling is a huge part of today’s world! Join us for this 45-minute presentation as we explore how to make paper you can plant, water, and watch grow. This Virtual Field Trip is geared towards PreK through 5th grade.

Math Masters

Have you ever wondered how and why mathematicians name shapes? During this 45-minute interactive presentation, students will learn the answer to those questions as well as learn about symmetry and construction of polygons. This Virtual Field Trip is geared towards PreK through 2nd grade.

The Art of Nature

Artists are continually inspired by the beauty and complexity of nature. They are even inspired by nature to repeat patterns and use nature as a medium for their art. Artists literally use nature to create their works, whether from wood, charcoal, graphite, clay, mixed pigments, or water. Connect with the Discovery Center for a 45-minute virtual presentation as we explore the art of nature. This Virtual Field Trip is adaptable for students PreK through 8th grade.

Exploring pH

Potential of Hydrogen, or pH as it is commonly referred to, is an important aspect of our everyday lives. From the way we digest our foods, to plant defenses, acids and bases are everywhere! Join the Discovery Center as we investigate pH through a 40-minute virtual presentation. This Virtual Field Trip is geared towards 6th through 12th grade.
